When you are seeking a way to eliminate creases and fine lines, reduce saggy skin, and eliminate the hollowing of your cheeks, a dermal filler may just be the solution you are looking for! Not only are dermal fillers in Chattanooga the best non-surgical alternative, but they are also considerably safer. A dermal filler not only may bridge the gap before invasive cosmetic surgery, but it will also achieve the desired results in a much shorter time.

All dermal filler injections are always done by Dr. Shire and never his nurse.

The Ideal Candidate for Dermal Fillers in Chattanooga

Overall, those with the most interest in dermal fillers are adults who are looking to reverse the effects of aging they are experiencing. Sometimes, prospects desiring dermal fillers may even be younger and seeking to maintain their already youthful appearance.

No matter the age, most of the candidates seeking dermal fillers will be a good fit. The ideal candidate will be a non-smoker who needs very little cosmetic work and is in good overall health. For candidates who smoke, the healing process is longer, and the success rate is often considerably lower than those who do not smoke.

Plus, it is important to know when considering injectables in Chattanooga, the expectations for your results should be realistic, understanding the fact that you may require additional treatments in the future to maintain your results.

While dermal filler candidacy is not based on being a man or woman, the fillers effectively:

  • Treat certain areas
  • Correct facial scarring
  • Give lips definition and fullness
  • Eliminate or improve wrinkling

What Dermal Filler Is Best?

There are many different types of dermal fillers in Chattanooga on the market today all with various claims and characteristics. Dr. Shire  recommends and uses only Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers. The reason for this is safety, longevity, and the ability to create a natural result.

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our bodies and is not “foreign”. However,it is manufactured in a laboratory and not harvested from animals or donated from people. Therefore, the risk of an allergic reaction is much less, and the HA can not transfer any viruses. HA’s can also be removed or reversed by using the enzyme, hyaluronidase, to dissolve the filler if needed. Used properly, HA fillers can last between one and five years! Our average HA filler patient gets around two years. Just like everything else the results are all determined by who is doing the procedure….technique is everything. That is why Dr. Shire does all injections personally and with over 35 years experience, the results are natural and long lasting.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers in Chattanoga

RHA, Redensity, Belotero® and Juvéderm™ dermal filler injections are sterile gels consisting of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found throughout the body. The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding it in water, and act as a cushioning agent.

RHA, Redensity®, Belotero® and Juvéderm™ fillers are biodegradable, which means when injected the gel breaks down, turns into water and carbon dioxide, and disappears unnoticed from the body. Best of all, hyaluronic acid fillers last for up to a full year or longer!

Hyaluronic Acid Filler Treatment Locations

When  RHA-2, RHA-3, Redensity, Belotero or Juvéderm are placed in an area where improvement is sought – such as with filling deep lines –  they create or add volume, and work as a filler lifting up.

HA dermal filler injections are also used for enhancing lips, adding volume and shape to the treated area. In fact, lipstick “bleeding” can often be corrected by redefining the lip line with Redensity, Belotero and Juvéderm.

On an individual basis, the areas most commonly injected with HA’s are located around the mid and lower-face, including the jawline, chin, temples, and cheeks.

Dermal fillers are versatile that can be injected in all areas of the face including:

  • Thin lips
  • Cheekbones
  • Fine lines
  • Smile lines
  • Eyebrow creases
  • Naso-labial folds
  • Acne scars

Combining Procedures with Dermal Fillers

Combining a dermal filler with other procedures may provide even great benefits including:

  • Customized treatment
  • Decreased recovery time
  • Money savings
  • Enhanced results

Belotero®,  RevanceTeoxane® RHA-2, RHA-3 and Redensity® and Juvéderm™ Filler Cost

Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers in Chattanooga

How long can I expect my dermal filler to last?

Similar to other procedures, results vary based on the type of dermal filler used and the injection technique. While one dermal filler can last for close to a year, another may last up to five years, due to the elastin and collagen the filler helps to produce.

Are all dermal fillers created equally

Many dermal fillers are available, and each one has a specific purpose once injected into an area of concern. For this reason, each dermal filler is different, and your facial plastic surgeon will help you determine which is the best fit for you.

How fast do dermal fillers work?

When a dermal filler is injected, you will experience results that are instant and visible though achieving the full results may take a month, and cohesiveness may take place faster in some fillers.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Having a dermal filler injected is a safe process that is FDA-approved. If you have your dermal filler injection and then decide the look is not for you, your doctor can inject Hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. There are complications that can occur with all filler injections, some can be very serious. It is critically important that the injecting doctor explain all the possible risks, so the patient can make an informed decision.

Do dermal fillers have adverse reactions?

The possible side effects of dermal fillers may include redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site. These side effects often subside within a few days. As with any injection, there is a  risk of infection possible at the site. Injecting in the perioral area can activate herpes simplex (cold sores/ fever blisters) which we pretreat all filler patients with an antiviral medication.  While a complication from dermal fillers is rare, they are still possible. Your facial plastic surgeon will discuss potential side effects along with their recommendations so adverse reactions can be avoided.

Are dermal fillers painful?

Normally the injection will not be painful. However, if you want to avoid all possibilities of pain, you can request the area to be numbed with an injection of lidocaine. The anesthetic will be given beforehand to ensure your dermal filler injection is pain-free. Dr. Shire performs nerve blocks for all his filler patients so they can have a pleasant  experience and to be able to achieve the best results.

Are dermal fillers expensive?

The amount you pay for your dermal filler will depend on the type of filler you have injected, the area that is being treated, and how many injections you receive at each appointment. Your doctor will be able to provide you with the total cost during your consultation.

Are dermal fillers removable?

Many dermal fillers can be removed, but not all. The type of filler will determine whether it can be removed. Hyaluronic acid based fillers are removable with a hyaluronidase injection. Once injected, the fillers will dissolve and become water once they have bonded to the hyaluronidase.

Are dermal fillers better than Botox?

No they have different actions.. Fillers fill in depressions, lines or wrinkles but do not remove them. Botox prevents a muscle from moving (contracting) thus preventing the wrinkle from forming. While a dermal filler and Botox provide similar functions, they each provide different areas with specific results. You can combine the two in order to achieve an enhanced result. Your doctor can advise you on the use of Botox and a dermal filler if you want to achieve a specific outcome.

Is a recovery time needed after a dermal injection is given?

While recovery time may vary from person to person, the average recovery will occur within one to two days. If bruising occurs, make-up will cover it until it resolves. The swelling can last for up to a week or so, but most people can go out and look good after one day. After recovery, you will be able to return to your regular activities. work.
